July 18, 2017 - Regent has launched a student recruitment centre in Nigeria to provide various value-added services to prospective international students.
The centre, located at No. 1 Kajegbo Street, Ibadan, Nigeria, has been christened, the Regent Student Recruitment Centre. At the centre, prospective students will receive guidance in completing student application forms, academic counselling services and will also be assisted with travel and student accommodation arrangements.
In his speech at the launch of the centre, Regent’s President, Prof. Nicholas Nsowah-Nuamah indicated that the centre would enable prospective international students to obtain without hassle, relevant admissions-related information and the processes leading to enrolment.
“This centre, among other things will guide students on admission requirements, programme selection, fees, visa applications and living conditions in Ghana”, said Prof. Nicholas Nsowah-Nuamah.
“In addition, the Centre will give valuable counseling to students in making their decision by providing useful information about social etiquette, cultural and social life, food, et cetera”, he added.
About 100 students from secondary schools across Nigeria attended the launch event, which was held at the Mauve 21 Event Centre in Ibadan.
In attendance at the launch were Ms. Nancy Ansah, the University Registrar, Rev. Dr. Dominic Dadzie, Director of Protocol, Mr. Bright Aboagye Da-Costa, Head of Admissions, Prof. Frederick Hymore to Quality Assurance Director, Ms. Harriet Essel Head, Outreach and Student Recruitment.
“Nigeria has always been a dependable partner in our student intake, contributing not less than 20% of our student population and still counting” said Prof. Nsowah-Nuamah.
“The world has certainly become a global village and interdependence has become part of the new world order.”
