On November 29, 2023, the grand launch of the newly established science laboratories and IT Center took place at the PAVON Centre on the Regent University College of Science and Technology campus, McCarthy Hill. The ultra-modern Molecular Diagnostic and Hematology laboratories, along with the IT Center, have been established by PAVON in collaboration with Merck Global Health Institute and Regent University College of Science and Technology.

The primary goal of establishing the laboratories is to train students in molecular epidemiological studies and diagnostic tools. Additionally, trainees will acquire skills in bioinformatics related to host, parasite, and vector genetics. PAVON, an acronym for Pan African Vivax and Ovale Network, is a consortium of African malaria scientists working to contribute to malaria elimination in Sub-Saharan Africa.
